Pilots Take Down the Huston Tillotson Rams, 80-75

Austin, Texas —In a hard-fought battle, the LSU Shreveport Pilots secured a narrow victory over the Huston Tillotson Rams with a final score of 80-75. The game was a relentless exchange of baskets and leads, keeping the intensity high from start to finish. With the win the Pilots maintain their 9-0 season record and 4-0 conference record.

Facing a nine-point deficit in the first half with just over ten minutes remaining, the Pilots showcased resilience, narrowing the gap to two points and ultimately stealing the lead. Heading into halftime with a 44-40 advantage, the Pilots demonstrated their determination.

The close contest continued into the second half, with the Pilots narrowly outscoring the Rams 36-35. Three-pointers played a crucial role, with the Pilots hitting a total of 9 in the game. Throughout the game, the Pilots displayed accuracy, shooting 28-71 from the field compared to the Rams' 24-60. 

Four Pilots stepped up with double-digit performances, led by Paul King, who contributed 23 points, going 6-14 from the field, sinking 3 three-pointers, and making 8-11 free throws. Damon Davis and Calvin Carpenter followed closely with 16 points each. Davis showcased his range, going 6-12 from the field with two three-pointers and 2 free throws, while Carpenter went 7-14 with 2 made free throws. Jordan DeCuir rounded out the double-digit scorers with 11 points, including 3 three-pointers and one field goal, adding 5 rebounds and two blocks to his impressive performance. The Pilots' collective effort secured a hard-earned victory in this closely contested matchup.

The Pilots will be back to action Tuesday December 19th as they face the number two Langston Lions in a midweek matchup. Tip-off is set for 2:00pm CT from Fort Worth, Texas.
