Men's Basketball Defeats UNT Dallas in Tuesday Matchup

Shreveport, Louisiana-- In an action-packed basketball clash, the LSU Shreveport Pilots secured a commanding victory over the UNT Dallas Trailblazers, emerging triumphant with a final score of 95-80. With the win the Pilots move to an overall record of 4-0 on the season ahead of their conference opening.

The game kicked off with both teams displaying a fast-paced and competitive style, exchanging baskets in a tightly contested battle. The Pilots managed to establish an early lead, but the Trailblazers remained within striking distance. As the first half drew to a close, the Pilots held a narrow advantage with a score of 38-36. The Pilots showcased their offensive prowess, shooting 14-28 from the field, sinking three three-pointers, and converting seven free throws. On the other side, the Trailblazers went 15-29, making four three-pointers, and securing two free throws.

The second half saw the Trailblazers staging a comeback, tying the scores early on. However, the Pilots responded with determination, breaking the tie and taking a decisive lead. The turning point came as the Pilots unleashed a barrage of back-to-back-to-back three-pointers, sparking a remarkable run that ultimately secured their victory.

As the final buzzer sounded, the Pilots emerged with a 15-point lead, clinching the win at 95-80. Their overall performance in the game was impressive, going 19-35 from the field, connecting on eight three-pointers, and making 11 of 12 free throws.

Five Pilots stood out with double-digit scoring contributions. Melvion Flanagan and Calvin Carpenter led the charge, with Flanagan contributing 21 points on 6-9 shooting from the field, four successful three-pointers, and a perfect 5-5 at the free-throw line. Carpenter closely followed with 20 points, going 7-12 with three three-pointers and 3 made free throws.

Damon David added 14 points to the Pilots' tally, shooting 5-9 from the field, making one three-pointer, and converting 3-4 free throws. Paul King and Jordan DeCuir also made significant contributions with 12 and 11 points, respectively, showcasing a well-rounded team effort.

The Pilots will be back in action Thursday November 30th as they open their conference season against the Generals of LSU Alexandria. Tip-off is set for 7:30pm from The Dock in Shreveport, Louisiana.
