Pilots Wrangle The Win Away From SAGU

Waxahachie, Texas-- In a thrilling basketball showdown, the LSU Shreveport Pilots emerged victorious against the SAGU Lions with a nail-biting final score of 73-71. With the win the Pilots rise to an overall record of 3-0.

The Pilots took charge from the beginning, leading through the first half of the game with a score of 33-30 at the halftime break. Their sharp performance included a 15-33 shooting record from the field, two successful three-pointers, and additional points from the free-throw line.

The second half, however, saw a spirited comeback from the Lions as they managed to seize the lead from the Pilots, putting them at an eleven-point deficit with just 11 minutes remaining. Undeterred, the Pilots rallied and fought their way back into contention, exchanging the lead with the Lions in a fiercely competitive battle.

With the game hanging in the balance, a crucial moment arrived when Melvion Flanagan sank a clutch 3-pointer, propelling the Pilots into the final lead with just one minute remaining. This pivotal play secured the Pilots' 73-71 victory, capping off a hard-fought contest.

Three standout Pilots made significant contributions, each scoring in double digits. Melvion Flanagan led the way with an impressive 23 points, showcasing his scoring prowess with an 8-17 field goal record, three successful three-pointers, and a solid 4-5 performance at the free-throw line. Josh LeBlanc added 13 points to the scoreboard, going 5-8 from the field and 3-4 at the free-throw line, while also contributing six rebounds and three steals. Jalen King rounded out the trio of double-digit scorers with 10 points, displaying versatility with a 5-9 field goal record, five rebounds, four assists, and one steal.

The Pilots' resilience and clutch performances down the stretch secured a hard-fought victory, marking an exciting chapter in their basketball campaign.

The Pilots will be back in action Tuesday November 21^st as they face the University of North Texas- Dallas. Tipoff is set for 6:00pm from The Dock in Shreveport, Louisiana.
