Men's Basketball Victorious in Shreveport Showdown

Shreveport, Louisiana—In a nail-biting basketball matchup, the LSUS Pilots men's basketball team managed to secure a narrow victory against the resilient Centenary College Gents, with a final score of 67-64. The Pilots faced a challenging start as the Gents jumped to a 15-2 lead, putting the Pilots on the back foot early in the game.

However, the Pilots displayed their determination and fighting spirit as the first half came to a close. They managed to narrow the gap, trailing the Gents 29-33 at halftime. Despite the early deficit, the Pilots showed resilience and tenacity.

In the second half, the Pilots made a strong comeback, netting 38 points while maintaining a sturdy defense that held the Gents to 31 points. The Pilots went 14-34 from the field, sinking two three-pointers and capitalizing on eight free throws to secure the win.

Notably, Paul King and Damon Davis emerged as the leading scorers for the Pilots. King contributed 15 points, going 4-10 from the field, making one three-pointer, and displaying accuracy at the free-throw line by going 6-6. Davis added 14 points to the Pilots' total, shooting 6-11 from the field, including one three-pointer, and making one free throw.

This hard-fought victory showcased the Pilots' ability to overcome adversity and make a strong comeback, ultimately securing a tight win in a thrilling basketball showdown.

The Pilots will be back in action Wednesday November 8th as the take on John Melvin in the Pilots' Annual Champions of Character game. Tip-off is set for 11:00am from The Dock in Shreveport, Louisiana.
