LSU Shreveport Baseball Team Invited to the White House Following Historic Undefeated Championship Season

SHREVEPORT, La. — The LSU Shreveport (LSUS) Pilots Baseball team has been officially invited to the White House following their unprecedented 59-0 season and 2025 NAIA Baseball National Championship title. The invitation came Monday afternoon during a surprise phone call from United States Speaker of the House Rep. Mike Johnson, made live during a city-wide celebration honoring the team's historic achievement.

In his call, Speaker Johnson praised the Pilots' perfect season and recognized the national spotlight now shining on Shreveport. "Everybody's talking about this unbelievable feat," said Johnson. "I don't know if you all saw it on Fox News this morning, but Shreveport's own Tim Brando got Bill Hemmer to make special mention of the team in our city."

In addition to the White House invitation, Johnson announced plans to honor the Pilots' legacy at the national level. "Because of the history you've made, it deserves permanent honor in the Congressional Record," he stated. "I want you to know I'll be delivering a Special Order Speech about your incredible achievement this week on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives."

Before ending the call, Johnson delivered a moment the crowd won't soon forget. "One last thing, I wanted to let you know that President Trump shares our excitement about all this as well, and he wants to invite the team for a visit and celebration at the White House."

Details of the upcoming visit will be announced in the coming days.

LSUS continues to celebrate what has been hailed as one of the greatest seasons in college baseball history. With a 59-0 record and a NAIA Baseball national title, the Pilots have set a new standard for excellence, dedication, and sportsmanship—bringing pride not only to the university but to the entire Shreveport/Bossier community.
