LSU Shreveport Baseball Voted No. 1 in Final NAIA Top 25 Poll Ahead of RRAC Tournament

SHREVEPORT, La. – The LSU Shreveport Pilots have been voted the No. 1 team in the nation in the final NAIA Baseball Top 25 Coaches Poll released Wednesday, capping off a perfect regular season with a 47-0 overall record and a 30-0 mark in Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) play.
The Pilots enter postseason play with one of the most dominant statistical profiles in the country. Offensively, LSUS ranks second nationally in triples (30) and on-base percentage (.498), third in total runs (546) and RBIs (498), and fourth in team batting average (.368). Their slugging percentage of .604 has made them a nightmare for opposing pitchers all season.
Defensively, the Pilots are just as imposing. LSUS leads the NAIA in team ERA (2.22) and shutouts (12). The pitching duo of Draven Zeigler and Isaac Rohde—both named RRAC First Team All-Conference selections—have been nearly unhittable. Zeigler holds the second-lowest ERA in the nation at 1.53, closely followed by Rohde's 1.84, which ranks third. Rohde also ranks second in both wins (12-0) and strikeouts (114), anchoring the most formidable rotation in the NAIA.
Leading the offense is RRAC Player of the Year Josh Gibson, who ranks third in the NAIA in stolen bases with 49 and sits among the top 20 in batting average (.441), providing a consistent spark at the top of the lineup.
With an unblemished record and national recognition now in hand, the Pilots turn their focus to the postseason. No. 1-seeded LSUS will open the 2025 RRAC Baseball Tournament on Thursday, May 1, facing No. 8-seeded Huston-Tillotson. First pitch is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. in Sterlington, Louisiana.
