Cobe Reeves Named RRAC Pitcher of the Week

SHREVEPORT, La. — LSU Shreveport senior pitcher Cobe Reeves has been named the Red River Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week for April 7-13, the league office announced Monday.
Reeves earned the weekly honor after notching two wins that helped the Pilots make history, breaking the NAIA record for the best winning streak to start a season. The southpaw from Ingleside, Texas, threw 10 innings across two starts as LSUS extended its perfect record to 40-0.
In his first outing of the week, Reeves scattered six hits and allowed two runs over five innings in a 7-4 win over Texas A&M University-Texarkana. He followed that performance by holding the University of the Southwest (N.M.) to two hits and one run over five frames in an 18-1 victory.
Reeves struck out 13 batters and walked four during the week. He improved to 8-0 on the season and currently ranks fourth in the RRAC in both earned run average (2.44) and strikeouts (81).
The Pilots remain unbeaten in conference play at 24-0 and continue to sit atop the RRAC standings. LSUS will host Nelson University at Pilot Field tomorrow at 2 p.m.
