LSUS Pilots Earn Third No. 1 Ranking in NAIA Poll

SHREVEPORT, La. – The LSU Shreveport (LSUS) Pilots baseball team continues to dominate the national stage, securing the No. 1 ranking in the latest 2025 NAIA GoRout Baseball Coaches' Top 25 Poll. The Pilots claimed all 19 first-place votes, maintaining their top position for the third consecutive poll of the season.

LSUS strengthened its hold on the top spot after an impressive 4-0 weekend performance and a midweek victory, sweeping Texas College while scoring an astounding 94 runs over 21 innings. The Pilots followed up with a decisive 14-2 win over Nelson University, extending their perfect record to 34-0 on the season.

Individually, the Pilots continue to shine on the national leaderboard. Austin Gomm ranks fourth in the NAIA with a .486 batting average, while Isaac Rohde is among the nation's top pitchers, ranking fifth in wins with eight and 10th in ERA at 1.74. Draven Zeigler also stands out on the mound, placing 12th nationally with a 1.85 ERA.

As a team, LSUS remains dominant in multiple statistical categories. The Pilots boast the nation's best pitching staff with a 2.44 ERA and rank second in fielding percentage at .982. Offensively, LSUS holds the sixth-best team batting average at .359, sits seventh in extra-base hits with 151, and ranks second in total runs scored with 399.

The Pilots return to action on Friday, April 4, when they host Texas A&M University-Texarkana at Pilots Field. First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m.
