SHREVEPORT, La. -- LSU Shreveport (28-0, 15-0 RRAC) dominated on the mound and at the plate Saturday, completing a three-game sweep over LSU Alexandria with an 11-3 win in game one and a 10-3 victory in game two of a doubleheader at Pilots Field.
The Pilots' bullpen was nearly untouchable, combining for 26 strikeouts over both games while limiting the Generals' offense.
Game 1: LSUS 11, LSUA 3
A five-run second inning propelled LSUS to a commanding lead, with Ryan Davenport, Josh Gibson, and Anthony Swenda each driving in runs before Vantrel Reed and Tamden Webb-Tate extended the lead.
Austin Gomm added a solo home run in the sixth, and Christian Hobbs chipped in a sacrifice fly as LSUS pulled away.
Kenneth Schechter (2-0) earned the win, pitching four innings while allowing two hits, two runs, and a walk with five strikeouts.
LSUA managed just three runs, including an RBI triple from Lane Patin in the fourth. Brenyn Ebarb took the loss after walking five and allowing two runs in just one inning of work.
