LSUS Pilots Soar to 27-0 with Dominant Win Over LSUA, Powered by Explosive Offense

On Friday, the Louisiana State University Shreveport (LSUS) Pilots extended their perfect record to 27-0 as they dominated the Louisiana State University Alexandria (LSUA) Generals.
The action began in the first inning when Vantrel Reed drove a run in with a double making it 1-0. Austin Gomm then came up and blasted a three-run home run making it 4-0. LSUA got a run back in the second inning when Peyton Marcantel drilled a home run to straight away center to make it 4-1. The Pilots kept it going in the bottom of the second when Josh Gibson drove a run in with a single. Reed knocked in three more with his own three run home run to make it 8-1. In the bottom of the third, Jose Sallorin got in on the action with an RBI double, then Gibson knocked another three-run home run to extend the lead to 12-1. LSUS got one more across in the bottom of the third when Reed scored off a wild pitch. The offense capped off in the bottom of the fourth with an RBI single from Ryan Davenport.
Isaac Rohde took the mound for the Pilots and had another excellent performance, going all seven innings, giving up the one run on two hits, struck out eleven and walked one. Rohde recorded his third complete game of the season. For the Generals, Josh Pierce took the loss going just under three innings, giving up thirteen runs on nine hits including three home runs, walking five and striking out two.
Gibson had a great day at the plate as he tallied two hits, knocked in four runs including the three-run home run and stole a base. Reed also had two hits and drove in four runs himself including a three-run homer of his own. Gomm also drove in three runs.
The Pilots will be back in action at Pilot Field tomorrow with a doubleheader against LSU-Alexandria. The first game begins at noon.
