Sallorin Walk-Off, Reeves No-Hitter Highlight LSUS Doubleheader Sweep Over LCU

SHREVEPORT, La. – LSU Shreveport capped off a dominant Saturday with a thrilling walk-off victory in Game 2 and a no-hitter in Game 3, sweeping their doubleheader against Louisiana Christian University at Pilot Field.

Game 2: Sallorin Walk-Off Secures Win, 5-4

In Game 2, the Pilots (19-0, 5-0 RRAC) edged out the Wildcats (8-14, 0-5 RRAC) in a dramatic 5-4 win, highlighted by Jose Sallorin's walk-off sacrifice fly to right field, driving in Ryan Davenport for the game-winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning.

Josh Gibson had a solid performance for LSUS, finishing with a run, a hit, and an RBI. Sallorin added a run and an RBI, while Angel Rodriguez and Bula White contributed RBIs to the Pilots' cause. David Hankins (3-0) earned the win in relief, allowing one run on one hit while striking out two. Draven Zeigler got the start, going 5.2 innings, allowing three runs on three hits, striking out four, and walking one.

Louisiana Christian's offense was fueled by a grand slam from Harrison Waxley in the sixth inning, briefly giving the Wildcats a 4-3 lead. Wildcats pitcher Cowan Alfonso (1-2) took the loss, surrendering two runs on two hits with a walk and one strikeout.

The Pilots responded immediately in the bottom of the seventh, with Gibson tying the game with an RBI single before Sallorin's sacrifice fly sealed the win.

Game 3: Reeves Tosses No-Hitter in LSUS' 12-0 Rout
LSUS carried its momentum into the series finale, riding a no-hitter from Cobe Reeves to a commanding 12-0 victory. Reeves (3-0) was dominant on the mound, striking out nine over seven hitless innings to secure the win.

The Pilots' offense exploded for 12 runs, led by Austin Gomm, who launched two home runs and drove in four RBIs. Anthony Swenda also had a standout performance, going deep for a solo shot while recording three runs, two hits, and two RBIs.

Davenport, Gibson, Sallorin, Anderson Acinger, and Christian Hobbs each contributed RBIs to the onslaught. Cameron Henson added two hits and an RBI.

Trip Flotte (1-2) suffered the loss for Louisiana Christian, lasting 3.1 innings while allowing three runs on three hits with three walks and a strikeout.

LSUS will be back in action on Monday, March 4, when they travel to Hattiesburg, Miss., to take on William Carey. First pitch is set for 4 p.m.
