Gibson Named RRAC Baseball Player of the Week

SHREVEPORT, La. – LSU Shreveport senior infielder Josh Gibson has been named the Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) Baseball Player of the Week for the period of February 10-16 following a dominant performance in the Pilots' three-game sweep over Our Lady of the Lake University (Texas).
Gibson, a native of O'Fallon, Ill., was instrumental in the Pilots' offensive surge, collecting five RBIs and four extra-base hits throughout the series. He went 6-for-13 at the plate, drawing two walks and swiping two bases to further bolster LSUS' attack. His most impressive outing came in the series finale, where he went 3-for-5 with a double, triple, and home run, leading LSUS to an 8-3 victory.
With his standout performance, Gibson has climbed to fifth in the conference with 14 RBIs on the season. His contributions have been key to LSUS' red-hot start, as the Pilots remain undefeated at 14-0 overall and 3-0 in RRAC play.
LSUS will look to build on its momentum as it plays a three-game series with Central Methodist University at Pilots Field starting on Saturday, Feb. 22 with a doubleheader. First pitch is set for 1 p.m.
