Pilots Win 19-3 to Complete Regular Season

Shreveport, LA - It took until Sunday to complete the final regular season series for the Pilots, but they did it in grand fashion. In a game that resembled much of what Pilot fans saw all weekend, LSUS would beat the rain and the Steers and win 19-3. The win pushes the regular season records to 39-7 overall and 28-2 in the RRAC. LSUS would win the regular season crown by a total of nine games and will ride a wave of confidence into the post season. 

LSUS didn't start game three quite as strong as they did the previous two yesterday, but the flood gates would open in the fourth and the Pilots would score seven runs. A four run fifth and an eight run sixth would push the lead beyound the 10-run rule and finish the day in seven. Storms would threaten most of the morning, but the shortened game would allow the regular season to conclude without getting wet. LSUS would pound 16 hits, six of those doubles on the day with two triples. Without the wind howling out of left field, homeruns would not be quite as common as yesterday, but Albert Guzman would launch a a three-run homer, the only for the day for the Pilots. LSUS would throw five different pitchers allowing just three runs on five hits, while striking out seven. 

LSUS's first round matchup in the RRAC Tournament has been determined and they will face off with Jarvis Christian on Thursday at 5 PM in Sterlington, Louisiana. The Pilots swept Jarvis during the regular season, outscoring the Bulldogs 41-13 in those three games. All-Conference teams will be announced later this week as the Pilots look to be well represented again.
