Pilots Complete Historic Comeback

Waxahachie, Texas - Even a slow start couldn't stop LSUS from extending their winning streak to six games and improving their overall record to 29-3 with a 11-10 win over the SAGU Lions.
Right out of the gate the Pilots found themselves up early with 2-0 lead after an RBI single from Vantel Reed and a sac fly from Jose Aquino. However, that would be the last time LSUS would lead until late in the eighth inning. The Pilots pitchers struggled though the first three innings giving up 8 total runs, digging a huge 8-2 hole.
Jose Sallorin would start the comeback from the Pilots. A homer in his second straight game would slightly close the gap, but it would ignite the comeback. The Pilot's bats began to warm up in the fifth, and would catch fire in the sixth. LSUS would score three runs on walks over the fifth and sixth inning, followed by an AJ Fritz sac fly and a timely error allowing Reed to score bringing the Pilots within one. Another bases loaded walk would score Cooper Huspen tying the game at 9 in the top of the eighth inning. Jack Parks would deliver a huge single up the middle and bring both Sallorin and Aquino to the plate giving LSUS an 11-9 lead.
In the bottom of the ninth, LSUS would get two quick outs on four pitches, but a slip would allow the runner to beat out the throw for the third out and give SAGU life. The Lions would make one last attempt to extend the game and deny the comeback as they would load the bases. A hit batter would bring SAGU within one, but the Pilots would buckle down and close out the game, completing the comeback.
