Pilots Redeem the Series With Two Wins Over Jaguars

Victoria, Texas-- The Pilots bounced back to their winning ways Saturday afternoon as they faced the Jaguars of Houston-Victoria in a double header winnings 3-1 and 8-3. With the loss the Pilots move to an overall fr off of 25-3 and a conference record of 16-2.

The Pilots took to the field in game one determined to start the day right. After a scoreless first inning the Pilots took to the plate in the second inning ready to begin scoring. Jose Aquino brought in Vantrel Reed and Jose Sallorin with a double to center field to put the Pilots up 2-0. The Jaguars added one run in the bottom of the fourth to put the game back within reach, 2-1. The Pilots added their final run in top of the fifth as a throwing error allowed the Pilots to reach home.

Jose Aquino was 1-for-1 with two RBIs and two walks while Draven Zeigler went to work on the mound going 5.1 innings and striking out seven. 

The Pilots continued in game two adding two runs immediately in the top of the game going up two 2-0. The Pilots added another run in the top of the third to take a 3-0 lead. Their final runs were compiled with three in the sixth and two in the ninth. The jaguars put up runs in the sixth and seventh.

The Pilots were led by Ryan Davenport who was two for two with two runs and an RBI. Behind him was AJ Fritz and Angel Rodriguez who were each two for four and each had two runs.

AJ Fritz picked up the win for the Pilots going five innings and striking out for with follow up performances from Josh Fortenberry, Chase Guitreau, and David Hankins to thwart off the Jaguars.

The Pilots will be back in action March 26th as they meet the Drovers of USAO in a neutral site match up. First pitch is set for 1:00pm CT from Arlington, Texas.
