Pilots Fall to Jaguars in 10-Inning Showdown

Victoria, Texas-- The Pilots fell for just the second time in conference Friday evening as the Jaguars of Houston-Victoria took the win in 10 innings, 5-4. With the loss the Pilots move to an overall fr off of 23-3 and a conference record of 14-2.
The Pilots took the lead in the second inning as a they compiled three runs. Two walks put runners on for the Pilots before a sacrifice bunt advanced them. Jose Sallorin brought in two runs with a single before Josh Gibson brought him across the plate for the third run.
The Jaguars held the Pilots to the three runs until the sixth inning when a fourth was added. Jose Aquino brought AJ Fritz home with a well aced single, but that's where the scoring would end for the Pilots.
The Jaguars made a run for the game in the bottom of the eighth inning, breaking the shutout and the deficit. The Jaguars put up four runs to force the Pilot into a corner. The Jaguars added the final blow in the bottom of the 10th, shattering the Pilots' streak.
AJ Fritz led at the plate for the Pilots going 3-for-4 and accounting for one run. Judy behind him was Jose Sallorin having gone 2-for-4 with one run and two RBIs. Isaac Rohde got the start on the mound for the Pilots getting six strikeouts and giving up just four hits.
The Pilots will be back in action March 23rd as they return to the Diamond against the Jaguars of UHV for a double header. First pitch is set for 12:00pm CT from Victoria, Texas.
