Bio

Aaron Adams brings more than two decades of experience as both a decorated athlete and accomplished coach to his role as Human Performance Lab Manager at LSU Shreveport.

A native of Shreveport, Adams competed as a weightlifter for 12 years, earning three Senior National Championships (2006, 2008, 2009) and setting four national records in the 62kg/136lb weight class. His career highlights include representing the United States on the international stage at three Junior World Championships, the University World Championships, the Senior Pan American Championships, and the Senior World Championships. Among his records are the Junior American Clean and Jerk and Total, as well as the Clean and Jerk and Total at the Collegiate level.

Following his competitive career, Adams transitioned into coaching and management, where he has spent over 10 years working with athletes of all levels. His coaching emphasizes athlete development, evidence-based training, and empowering individuals to reach their full potential. In addition to coaching, Adams has managed fitness facilities and conducted performance analyses to design personalized training models for long-term athlete growth.

Adams holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from LSU Shreveport and a Master’s degree in Acupuncture from the Maryland University of Integrated Health. His academic background, combined with his athletic and coaching experience, uniquely positions him to bridge science and sport. At LSUS, he oversees the Human Performance Lab, where he continues to advance research-driven approaches to fitness, health, and athletic performance.
