Bio

Meghan Neffendorf MS, ATC, LAT is an accomplished athletic trainer and sports medicine professional with over a decade of experience in collegiate athletics. She currently serves as Director of Sports Medicine and Senior Woman Leader at Louisiana State University Shreveport (LSUS), where she oversees the medical care and performance of six NAIA teams and three club programs, while also supervising the athletic training staff and contributing to athletic administration and event management.

Since joining LSUS in 2020, Meghan has played a pivotal role in elevating the program’s athletic training services and athletic administration. She has successfully hosted national tournaments, including multiple NAIA Baseball Opening Rounds, RRAC Baseball Tournament, and the Cajun Collision, while providing direct care for men’s soccer and baseball—both of which have achieved historic postseason success under her tenure, including the 2025 NAIA National Championship (59-0) with LSUS Baseball.

A dedicated leader in her field, Meghan has earned numerous professional honors, including being named RRAC Athletic Trainer of the Year three times (2021-2022, 2023-2024, 2024-2025) and NAIA Athletic Trainer of the Year (2024–2025). She also plays a key role at the conference and at the national level.  Serving as the RRAC Athletic Training Chair, NAIA Athletic Trainers Association Board, as the Secretary, along with the NATA Intercollegiate Council for Sports Medicine, helping shape policy and advocacy for collegiate athletic trainers nationwide. In addition to her administrative and clinical work, she contributes to education as an Instructor with the LSU Health Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship Program.

A native of Frohna, Missouri, Meghan earned her Master of Science in Physical Education with a concentration in Sports Administration from the University of New Mexico in 2013 and her Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training with a Biomedical Science minor from Missouri State University in 2011. Her career path has spanned multiple institutions—including at NCAA Division I: Southern Illinois University, and at the NAIA: Campbellsville University, and Tennessee Wesleyan University, she was a part of and worked with the 2019 NAIA Baseball National Championship team—where she has consistently elevated athletic training programs and supported student-athletes’ well-being and performance.

Meghan is married to current LSUS Head Baseball coach Brad Neffendorf, and the two reside in Bossier City with their two children: son Kash and daughter Sutton.
