Kyle Hawkins joined the LSUS Athletic Department as the Assistant Athletic Director of Operations after the spring season in 2024.

“I am extremely excited to be joining the team here at LSUS! Lucas and the whole team have established a culture of excellence that I know I can add to going forward.” says Hawkins.

Hawkins, a Lapel, Ind. native comes to LSUS from his Alma Mater IU Southeast in New Albany, Ind. where he served in a multitude of roles including Interim Asst. AD for Operations.

During his time at IU Southeast, Hawkins was responsible for direct oversight of their outdoor sports of baseball, softball, and men’s and women’s tennis. In addition, he managed various operations including gameday, apparel/uniform ordering, and facility operations.  He also was the campus liaison for the Association of Student-Athletes.

In between stints at IU Southeast, Hawkins was the first person hired by the athletic director of IUPUC in Columbus, Ind. to help build an intercollegiate athletics program from scratch. There he was able to help create many processes that would get the program off the ground.

“I am forever grateful for my time at IUS and IUPUC,” says Hawkins. “I was given a ton of opportunity to challenge myself, learn from my mistakes, take ownership of projects, and, most importantly, have an impact and serve the student-athletes.”

Hawkins played baseball at IU Southeast for four years where he was selected to the River States Conference 1^st team during his senior campaign where he recorded the 2^nd lowest season ERA in school history. During his career he was also named an RSC and NAIA Scholar Athlete and was inducted as a member of Chi Alpha Sigma, which is the national honor society for student-athletes. Hawkins earned his B.S. in Business Management, Marketing and Professional selling from Indiana University Southeast, before earning his M.S. in Sports Administration from Southeastern Oklahoma State University.
