LSUS’s Meghan Neffendorf Named to NATA Intercollegiate Council for Sports Medicine

Shreveport, LA – Louisiana State University Shreveport (LSUS) is proud to announce that Director of Sports Medicine and Senior Woman Leader, Meghan Neffendorf, has been named to the National Athletic Trainers' Association (NATA) Intercollegiate Council for Sports Medicine (ICSM) for the NAIA.

 

   Neffendorf's appointment is a significant honor that highlights her outstanding contributions to athletic training and student-athlete welfare. The ICSM plays a vital role in addressing critical issues that impact athletic trainers and student-athletes at institutions within the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA). The committee is charged with identifying timely and relevant topics in athletic training and bringing them forward to collaborate with organizing bodies across collegiate and intercollegiate athletics. The ultimate goal is to influence policy and provide resources that promote student-athlete safety, well-being, and healthcare.

 

   "I'm grateful to be selected as a new member of the ICSM representing the NAIA," said Neffendorf. "Looking forward to the opportunity to work alongside all the other collegiate Athletic Trainers on the council. My hope is to be an advocate for all NAIA Athletic Trainers, and to address the issues that impact us and our Student-Athletes."

 

   The ICSM is an athletic conference-based committee composed of athletic trainers working across all levels of collegiate athletics, including NCAA Division I, II, and III programs, as well as 2-Year and NAIA institutions. Neffendorf's involvement ensures that LSUS and other NAIA schools will have a strong voice in shaping the future of sports medicine and athletic care on a national scale.
