Derks Named RRAC Offensive Player of the Week
WACO, Texas -- LSU Shreveport's Jade Derks has been named the Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) Offensive Player of the Week after leading the Pilots to a pair of conference victories over Jarvis Christian University (Texas) and Texas A&M University-Texarkana. The wins improved LSUS to 9-5 overall and a perfect 8-0 in RRAC play, keeping the Pilots atop the conference standings.
Derks was instrumental in LSUS's 7-1 road win over Jarvis Christian to open the week. The midfielder scored in the 67th minute and tallied two assists while recording three shots, including two on target.
She carried that momentum into Saturday's 3-1 victory over Texas A&M-Texarkana, a match delayed nearly two hours due to weather. Derks stayed locked in, scoring twice — once just before halftime to put LSUS ahead 3-0 and again in the 56th minute — marking her eighth and ninth goals of the season. She led all players with six shots, four of them on goal.
Derks's consistent offensive production continues to anchor the Pilots' attack as LSUS remains undefeated in conference play.
