Pilots Men's Basketball has Six Named in RRAC Postseason Awards
Waco, Texas— The RRAC released the All Conference Awards prior to the start of the tournament and the Pilots found many names among those selected. In total the Pilots took home six designations.
Calvin Carpenter was the lone Pilot named to the RRAC first team. He repeats as an All-Conference selection having been named to the second team in the 2022-2023 season but has since improved his game to make the jump to the first team. Carpenter is 123-271 from the field this season with 30 made three-pointers and 74 made free throws. He has been a strong hand the Pilot offense while not only putting up baskets but hanf off 35 assists and taking 24 steals.
Paul King and Tyler Washington act as the two Pilots to collect RRAC Second team recognition. King averages 11.1 points per game for the Pilots having gone 86-104 from the field with 27 made three-pointers. Tyler Washington had a strong run for the Pilots putting up five back-to-back twenty-plus point games. He is 85-176 from the field with 24 three-point baskets and 40-51 made free throws. Off the boards he has a total of 120 rebounds while acting defensively with 18 steals and 6 blocks.
Damon Davis and Melvion Flanagan were both named to the RRAC Honorable Mention list having helped the Pilots at the net. Davis finished the regular season 99-188 from the field with 15 buckets beyond the arc and a 75% free throw average with 63 made free throws. Flanagan has shown flare for the Pilots hitting 95 field goals, 51 of which have been three-pointers. He is a solid 84-108 from the free throw line and has handed off 45 assists.
The final Pilot named is Keldyn Schubert who was nominated as the Pilot Champions of Character Representative.
The Pilots will both be opening the Quarter Finals on Friday March 1st. Tip-off is set for the Men at 3:00pm from Rapides Coliseum in Alexandria, Louisiana.
