
LSUS Women’s Tennis Set to Open RRAC Tournament Against Louisiana Christian
SAN ANTONIO, Texas – The LSU Shreveport women's tennis team begins postseason play this week in the 2025 Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) Women's Tennis Championship, entering the tournament as the No. 4 seed. The Pilots will face No. 5 seed Louisiana Christian University in a quarterfinal match on Thursday, April 17, at 8 a.m. at the Blossom Tennis Center in San Antonio.
The championship tournament, hosted by Our Lady of the Lake University, runs from April 16–19 and features a nine-team bracket made up of six RRAC members and four affiliate teams. The field includes Dillard, Lewis-Clark State College, Louisiana Christian, LSU Alexandria, LSU Shreveport, Northern New Mexico, Our Lady of the Lake, Rust College, Texas A&M-Texarkana, and Xavier (La.).
Three quarterfinal matches will be played Thursday, followed by semifinal action on Friday. The tournament champion will be crowned on Saturday, with the winner earning an automatic bid to the NAIA National Championships.
LSUS closed the regular season with an 8-4 record and enters the tournament ranked No. 25 in the latest NAIA Women's Tennis Top 25 Poll and No. 21 in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) national rankings.
The Pilots are led by the top doubles duo of Pierina Lescher and Daniela Maldonado, who have earned national recognition with a No. 49 ranking in the ITA doubles poll. Their strong chemistry and consistency have been key factors in LSUS's success this season.
