Pilots Blank Jarvis Christian 16-0 in Home Finale Blowout

Shreveport, LA — The LSU Shreveport Pilots delivered a commanding performance Friday night at Pilot Field, shutting out Jarvis Christian College 16-0 in their final home game of the regular season. With power at the plate, speed on the bases, and dominance on the mound, LSUS left no doubt as they opened the final series of the regular season.

The Pilots jumped on the Bulldogs early with a five-run first inning. Vantrel Reed sparked the offense with a two-run double, scoring Ryan Davenport and Josh Gibson. Ian Montz followed with an RBI single, then stole home as part of a double steal with Anthony Swenda, who later scored on Jose Sallorin's RBI single up the middle.

The second inning kept the momentum going as Davenport stole home—part of his five-steal night—and Jackson Syring added an RBI single. By the third, Tamden Webb-Tate doubled in a run, and Gibson added another RBI to stretch the lead to 9-0.

In the fourth, Syring drove in Reed with a groundout, and Swenda delivered his second double of the game to plate Montz. The onslaught continued in the fifth with a sacrifice fly by Reed, followed by a two-run homer from DJ Walker, scoring Angel Rodriguez to push the score to 14-0.

LSUS closed their scoring in the sixth when Nathaniel De La Cruz smacked a two-run double, bringing home Anderson Acinger and Bula White for the final blow.

The Pilots racked up 16 runs on 16 hits, with RBIs spread across 11 different players. Reed led with three RBIs, while Walker, De La Cruz, and Syring each had two. Swenda, Gibson, Montz, Sallorin, and Webb-Tate also got in on the action.

The Pilots were relentless on the basepaths, stealing a total of 14 bases, led by Davenport (5), Montz (3), and Gibson (3), keeping Jarvis Christian off balance all night.

Draven Zeigler (11-0) was lights-out on the mound, striking out eight and allowing just two hits over five scoreless innings. David Hankins closed out the game with two shutout innings and four strikeouts.

Jarvis Christian managed just two hits—one apiece from Jaylon Cotton and Troy Brown. Starting pitcher Aiden Carranza was tagged with the loss, surrendering 11 runs (8 earned) over 3.1 innings.

The Pilots wrap up their regular season on the road Saturday in Hawkins, Texas, with a doubleheader against Jarvis Christian. First pitch is set for 1 p.m.
