Jordan Schwellenbach Named Pilots Assistant Baseball Coach

Shreveport, La.--- LSUS Head Baseball Coach Brad Neffendorf has announced the hiring of Assistant Coach Jordan Schwellenbach. "Announcing Jordan to our staff and bringing him on board here within the program is one of the more exciting moments over my time here at LSUS.  He brings a wealth of success and experience at our level during his time at Central Methodist within a program that has continued to establish themselves as one of the elites to do it in the NAIA," says Neffendorf.

Schwellenbach, a Saginaw, Mich. native, comes to the Pilots highly regarded from Central Methodist (Mo.) where he spent seven seasons under Nate Breland. "Jordan was a vital piece of our roster development that has qualified for nine consecutive Opening Rounds, seven during his time here at CMU, all while finishing as the national runner-up in the 2021 World Series.  His involvement and quality of work in our day-to-day operations was second to none.  I wish him the best as both his wife and him embark on the next step in their lives," Breland said.

Schwellenbach was instrumental in the growth of Central Methodist's baseball program. Over his time, he saw the Eagles to their first ever NAIA World Series, as well as helped develop all seven of the program's NAIA All-Americans. The Eagles surpassed 35 wins in each season he was there, four of those seasons they surpassed 40. In addition to the World Series and seven opening rounds CMU went to, they won six conference championships, and 40 rankings within the NAIA National Top 25 Poll.

"I am extremely grateful and excited to be joining the LSU Shreveport baseball family.  I want to thank the administration and Coach Neffendorf for giving me this wonderful opportunity.  I look forward to the players reporting in August so we can get to work," said Schwellenbach.

Prior to his time at CMU Schwellenbach spent 3 seasons as an assistant coach at Saginaw Valley State University. During his time with the Cardinals, he coached numerous All-Conference and All-Region performers.

"Jordan will provide more than we can imagine to this program from all different angles, but most importantly, these players will benefit from the value he provides and that's something they all deserve as we continue to push this thing forward. Jordan provides big game experience and an appearance in a National Title game in 2021 along with working alongside Nate Breland, one of the best at our level and someone I have the upmost respect for. Extremely excited to get Jordan here along with the rest of our staff and players and have another opportunity this year for us all to work together and push each other to grow and impact everyone around us," says Head Coach Neffendorf

Before becoming a coach, Schwellenbach pitched for Northwood University in Midland, Mich. Where he graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration, concentrating in Advertising and Marketing.

Jordan will be joined in Shreveport by his wife Niki. He will officially begin his duties on July 17th.
