ATHLETIC TRAINING

Welcome to LSU Shreveport Sports Medicine!

The LSUS Sports Medicine staff provides care for all LSUS student-athletes. Our full-time certified athletic trainers use their skills and knowledge to prevent, evaluate, treat, rehabilitate, and perform functional exams on athletic injuries incurred by student-athletes during practices and competition. Our state licensed and BOC-certified athletic trainers work in compliance of the standards set by the National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA), the Louisiana Athletic Trainers’ Association (LATA), and the Louisiana Board of Medical Examiners (LSBME).

Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport (OLHS) serves as the official sports medicine provider for LSUS athletics. OLHS boasts a comprehensive team of sports medicine trained medical providers and a robust network of specialists to meet the needs of the LSUS student-athletes. Dr. Mike Nammour, MD and his team provide excellent orthopedic care to the Pilots. Dr. Charles Webb, DO leads the OLHS team of primary care sports medicine physicians that provide care for the Pilots. The LSUS athletic training staff works in conjunction with OLHS to ensure the health and well-being of all the student athletes. OLHS employs one of the athletic trainers assigned to work with LSUS athletics full-time as part of this partnership.

The athletic training facility at LSU Shreveport is open to all student-athletes and is located inside the HPE Building, in the southeast corner of The Dock (LSUS gymnasium). A second satellite facility is located inside the gates of Pilot Field, in proximity to the baseball field and soccer field.
